Why surgical weight loss?
Our weight loss program is based on the fact that obesity is a serious medical problem that needs medical treatment. The problem can be so severe that it justifies surgical intervention. If you are ‘Morbidly Obese’ chances are that you will die many years early and suffer until then. You probably have several medical conditions that are caused or exacerbated by your weight; most of them cannot be treated or cannot be treated adequately until you lose the weight. If you can lose the weight without surgery, we say, “Great!” If you cannot lose the weight and keep it off, Bariatric surgery might be what you need.
What surgical options do we provide?
We offer two very different operations for weight loss: the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, both open and laparoscopic, and the Adjustable Lap-Band. Together, you and Dr. Hall will determine which operation is best suited for you during your initial consultation with him.
What the program ‘is’ and ‘is not’…
Our program is not a magic solution to your weight problem. It requires dedication and hard work on your part. It is a multi-disciplinary approach to help you get your weight off and keep it off. Most patients will lose 100 pounds or more the first year. With the emotional and life-style changes that accompany this weight loss, the weight will become easier and easier to keep off.
