Dr. Hall promotes a personal experience to help you take that first huge step towards a better quality and longer life. Our office does this by facilitating what is normally an uncomfortable time alone with your thoughts into one with tremendous support by knowledgeable staff and new friends confronting the same fears together. The alumni say that making the decision to get what many think as the only permanent solution to weight loss was the first time they had done something for themselves instead of trying to please others. And this is truly the gift that keeps on giving! By giving yourself a new kind of quality life you are giving your family, friends and perhaps your career access to the happier and healthier you that was always there but couldn’t be seen or touched.
It’s not easy starting your new life but the load is lighter by being able to go through the scary stuff together in a focused and supportive environment. Because we also live busy lives, we understand it is difficult to prepare for this kind of thing properly. We know that the details need to be thought about and managed, we just say let us help you do it in a positive way. Our process helps quicken the pace of sorting these details out before hand and provides time for you to get your breath before you arrive at the hospital and begin to meet some new friends and associates.
After you select Dr. Hall as your surgeon, he will have one of his office staff work as your coordinator through the entire process. The coordinator facilitates the details before you arrive, makes herself available almost as a family member or best friend while you are in the hospital and will help see that you are safely back on your way home to start your new life. Although we encourage patients to bring someone from home, a spouse, close relative, or good friend, more than 70% of the Alumni come to us without someone from home. The alumni have traveled from almost all 50 states and Puerto Rico for surgery.
Because we have performed this surgery successfully so many times, we can assure you that almost everyone that you will be coming into contact with is either helping you directly, part of the supporting cast or have traveled many of the same roads as you. We know about many of the indignities and slights suffered by people suffering from this medical condition called morbid obesity and have done our best to gather up an outstanding team that is willing to do their best for you.
You will be amazed at the level of closeness that develops when you realize you are involved with others who have made the same decision as you for likely the same or very similar reasons. Even we are surprised at times how such friendships develop and what power it gives you. We hope you will be able to keep in touch with your new friends by phone, mail and/or email and swap photos of the new you and see how your buddies are doing as well!
